![]() ![]() ![]() I wanted a 'shooter' and the one I turned up was all-matching aside from one grip panel. The one I ended up with is a Wartime Commercial, made in 1917. Most 9mm 'Broomhandles' have been rechambered from the original 7.63mm Mauser. Only one production run for the Prussian Army was made in 9x19mm and there are a number of unique features to identify this particular model. Prices have been floating north of $1000 for decent shooters and have always been well over $2000 for ones in very nice condition and those with serial-matching stocks. They are not terribly common and I have seen quite a few bidding wars on the usual auction sites when a rather nice example comes up. ![]() There are a lot of refinished, rechambered and mismatched guns floating around so it took me about six weeks worth of reading and researching before I felt confident enough to start shopping for one. I have one and it's fun to shoot, but I was not ready to purchase one until I had done my fair share of research into the history and variations. ![]()
